District administration thanks Shrine Board for flood relief assistance in Poonch

POONCH, AUGUST 1: The District Administration Poonch on Saturday expressed gratitude to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) for extending timely relief assistance to families affected by the recent floods, heavy rainfall and landslides in the district.

The administration received a substantial consignment of essential relief material from the Shrine Board to support affected households during the ongoing rehabilitation process.

The relief material included ration kits, kitchen utensil sets, family tents and tarpaulins, emergency lights, first-aid kits and other essential daily-use items.

The assistance was immediately distributed among flood-affected families through dedicated teams of officials in Surankote, Mandi, Mendhar and other affected areas of the district to ensure timely support to those in need.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma appreciated the Shrine Board for its prompt humanitarian assistance during the natural calamity and expressed heartfelt gratitude for its support in the relief and rehabilitation efforts.

He said such timely intervention has provided much-needed relief to the affected families and strengthened the district administration’s efforts to assist people in the aftermath of the disaster.
