DLSA Jammu settles 34 matrimonial disputes in Special Lok Adalat

JAMMU, AUGUST 1: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jammu on Saturday organised a Special Lok Adalat for matrimonial cases, facilitating the amicable settlement of family disputes through conciliation and mediation.

The Special Lok Adalat was held under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, DLSA Jammu, Ravinder Nath Watal, and under the supervision of Secretary, DLSA Jammu, Maleeka Sharma.

A total of 20 benches were constituted to hear and dispose of matters relating to matrimonial disputes.

During the proceedings, 155 matrimonial cases were taken up, of which 34 were amicably settled through conciliation and mediation.

The Special Lok Adalat aimed to provide a speedy, cost-effective and mutually acceptable resolution of matrimonial disputes while promoting social harmony by encouraging parties to resolve their differences through dialogue.

Similar Special Lok Adalats were also organised at the Tehsil Legal Services Committees (TLSCs) in Bishnah, R.S. Pura and Akhnoor.
