Tiranga rallies, Har Ghar Tiranga activities and Independence Day preparations adding to patriotic fervour

As Independence Day is just a few hours away, a wave of patriotism has gripped the entire Jammu and Kashmir, with the Tricolour dominating streets, towns, institutions and public spaces as districts step up celebrations under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

From the plains of Jammu to the high-altitude Himalayan reaches of Kupwara, people from different sections of society have come together in a vibrant display of national pride, unity and respect for the National Flag. Tiranga rallies, cycle rallies, Tiranga yatras, bike rallies, cultural programmes and other patriotic activities have been organised across the Union Territory by district administrations, government departments, educational institutions and community organisations.

In Samba, the District Administration organised a mega Har Ghar Tiranga Rally under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan. The rally witnessed overwhelming participation from people belonging to different sections of society, creating a powerful display of collective patriotism, unity and pride in the Tricolour.

Anantnag witnessed Mega Tiranga Rallies across Dooru, Pahalgam, Bijbehara and Kokernag. Officers, officials, students, youth and members of the general public joined the marches carrying the National Flag and raising patriotic slogans. At Dooru, the procession moved from the Hospital to Fountain Head near the Court Complex, while the Pahalgam rally began at Selfie Point and culminated at Main Market. Similar rallies were held at Bijbehara and Kokernag, with citizens joining the processions and adding to the patriotic fervour.

In Bandipora, a series of activities were organised under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram. The Department of Youth Services and Sports organised a cycle rally in Zone Quil, while a Tiranga Yatra was held in Sumbal. Government offices, Anganwadi Centres, RSETI, AYUSH institutions, students, youth and community members also participated in activities centred around the National Flag.

Kulgam too witnessed massive participation in Tiranga rallies organised at Panchanpathri and Government Degree College, Kulgam. Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Alam led the rallies organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the Sub-Divisional Administration, DH Pora, and the college. The events aimed at invoking patriotism and promoting reverence for the National Flag and the National Song.

Adding a distinctive cultural dimension to the celebrations, Kulgam also witnessed a Vande Mataram Flash Mob at Ghanta Ghar, organised by the Municipal Council in collaboration with the District Administration. Students and youth presented a spirited performance dedicated to the patriotic theme, drawing appreciation from the public and creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of the town.

One of the most striking displays of patriotism came from Kupwara, where the majestic heights of Sadhna Top at 10,500 feet reverberated with patriotic fervour. A grand Tiranga Rally was organised at the iconic Shaurya Gatha Complex by the Sub-Divisional Administration, Karnah, witnessing participation from students, civil society members, veterans, ex-servicemen, former PRIs, Lambardars and officials.

Against the spectacular backdrop of the Himalayan ranges, the Tricolour soared high, symbolising national unity, the sacrifices of countless heroes and the unwavering spirit of patriotism. Participants marched with enthusiasm, carrying the message of Har Ghar Tiranga and reaffirming their commitment to uphold the dignity of the National Flag.

Across the entire Jammu and Kashmir, the celebrations have brought together students, government employees, youth, women, veterans, civil society members and citizens under one common symbol—the Tricolour.

The scale and diversity of the activities reflect a widespread expression of patriotism ahead of August 15. From major towns and district headquarters to educational institutions, government offices and remote mountain locations, the National Flag has become the centrepiece of celebrations.

The ongoing activities are also giving a strong public dimension to the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, encouraging citizens to display the Tricolour with pride and participate in the nation’s Independence Day celebrations.

As Jammu and Kashmir prepares to mark Independence Day, the message resonating across the Union Territory is one of unity, patriotism and national pride. The Tricolour is fluttering across villages, towns, cities and mountain frontiers, bringing people together in a shared celebration of the nation.

With only hours left before the country celebrates its Independence Day, the entire Jammu and Kashmir stands wrapped in the colours of the Tricolour, reflecting a powerful spirit of patriotism and collective pride.
