Omar Abdullah announces ₹10 lakh ex-gratia for families of Kulgam terror victims

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 1: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday strongly condemned the killing of two labourers in Kulgam and announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of the deceased.

The Chief Minister said the financial assistance from the CMRF would be in addition to the ₹6 lakh immediate relief being provided by the district administration.

Expressing profound grief over the loss of innocent lives, Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and assured them that the Government stands firmly with them during this difficult time.

He prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and for strength and courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.

The Chief Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to extending all possible support to the affected families following the tragic incident.
