CHRAR-I-SHARIEF, AUGUST 10: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather today undertook an extensive tour of Wanpora, Qazipora, Takiya Hayatpora and Sarie areas of the Chrar-i-Sharief constituency to take stock of ongoing developmental works and assess the requirements of the people.
During the visit, the Speaker interacted with residents and listened to their development-related concerns and demands. He visited various locations across the areas and reviewed the progress of developmental activities being undertaken at different sites.
Abdul Rahim Rather emphasised the need to improve road connectivity, strengthen basic infrastructure and address long-pending demands of the people on priority.
A major highlight of the visit was the launch of macadamisation work on the Wanpora link roads. The project is expected to improve the condition of the existing road network, provide smoother and safer connectivity to residents and facilitate better access to adjoining areas.
The Speaker stressed that proper quality standards must be maintained during execution of the macadamisation work to ensure that the roads provide durable and long-term benefits to the people.
He also inspected bridge construction sites in the area and took stock of the progress of the ongoing works. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the projects while maintaining quality standards.
The Speaker reiterated that development works should be executed in accordance with the requirements of the local population and that issues affecting connectivity and infrastructure should receive due attention.
