DODA, AUGUST 4: An Adolescent Health Day programme was organised at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Nandana, under the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) to promote awareness on adolescent health and well-being.
The programme was jointly conducted by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and RKSK teams led by Dr. Vijay, adolescent health counsellors Pinku Sharma and Pooja Sharma, and FMPHW Indu Bala in collaboration with the school staff.
During the programme, students were sensitised about key adolescent health issues, including balanced nutrition, personal and menstrual hygiene, mental well-being, prevention of substance abuse and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices.
Interactive sessions provided students with an opportunity to openly discuss their concerns and seek guidance on various health-related issues from the resource persons.
As part of the programme, Body Mass Index (BMI) screening of students was also conducted to assess their nutritional status and identify those requiring counselling or further health interventions.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, highlighting the importance of creating awareness among adolescents and encouraging healthy behaviours for their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
