Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu leads plantation drive

JAMMU, July 26: A tree plantation drive was organised at Nagar Van Raika on Sunday as part of the ongoing Van Mahotsav celebrations under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, with members of the judiciary, Forest Department officials and staff participating in the initiative.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu Ravinder Nath Watal, accompanied by Civil Judge (Senior Division) Maleeka Sharma, planted saplings during the plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental conservation and increasing green cover.
Addressing the gathering, Ravinder Nath Watal appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department in developing and maintaining Nagar Van at the scenic location. He described the initiative as a significant contribution towards environmental protection and public welfare and stressed the importance of preserving nature for future generations.
The plantation drive witnessed the participation of Divisional Forest Officer Jammu Anurag Arya, Deputy Director J01 Gamma Unit Tariq Ahmed and Standing Counsel, J&K Forest Department, Anchit Sharma.
Officers and staff of the Jammu Forest Division and the J01 Forest Protection Force also joined the programme and actively participated in the plantation activity, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
