DC Samba reviews Mission YUVA implementation, stresses coordinated approach

SAMBA, AUGUST 4: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan on Tuesday reviewed the implementation and progress of Mission YUVA in the district and stressed the need for greater coordination among departments to ensure effective execution of the flagship initiative.
The review meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi, representatives of J&K Bank and J&K Grameen Bank, besides officers and officials associated with Mission YUVA.
Reviewing the progress achieved so far, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised seamless inter-departmental coordination and a result-oriented approach for the successful implementation of the mission. She reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and creating sustainable self-employment opportunities for youth through continuous monitoring and timely interventions.
A detailed review was conducted on the number of applications received, sanctioned and disbursed, besides the status of Hybrid Training Programmes, Enterprise Mentorship Programmes and overall output tracking under the mission.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), to onboard more industrial establishments to enhance the district’s training capacity. She also instructed the Assistant Director, Employment, to intensify Hybrid Training and Enterprise Mentorship Programmes by effectively utilising applications approved by the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC).
Banking institutions were asked to expedite documentation and ensure timely disbursement of sanctioned cases, while the District Programme Manager, National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), was directed to accord priority to Self Help Group (SHG) applications under Mission YUVA.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that all stakeholders should work in close coordination to achieve the objectives of Mission YUVA and ensure meaningful livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities for aspiring youth across the district.
