MY Bharat organises ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ programme

KATHUA, AUGUST: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Kathua, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” programme at Government Degree College (Women), Kathua, with around 170 participants taking part in the anti-drug awareness initiative.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the Gujjar and Bakarwal Hostel, NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of the college.
The event began with the rendition of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, followed by the administration of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” pledge, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to remain free from substance abuse and contribute towards building a healthy and developed India.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Kathua, Jigmat Spaldon, highlighted the crucial role of youth in combating drug abuse and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. She urged the participants to become ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign in their communities.
The participants also joined the nationwide virtual programme, during which Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya called upon young people to lead the movement against substance abuse and actively contribute to nation-building.
As part of the event, a Nukkad Natak depicting the harmful effects of drug addiction was presented to spread awareness and reinforce the message of collective responsibility in creating a drug-free society.
The participants later watched the virtual address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who encouraged the youth to play a proactive role in building a drug-free India and emphasised their responsibility in shaping the nation’s future.
Faculty members, NSS Programme Officers, MY Bharat officials and staff of Government Degree College (Women), Kathua, were also present.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to spread the message of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” among their families, friends and communities and contribute towards the vision of a drug-free and developed India.
