Panch Samelan held to sensitise stakeholders on VB-GRAMG scheme

SAMBA, AUGUST 6: The Rural Development Department, Samba on Thursday organised a district-level Panch Samelan to sensitise former Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives and other stakeholders about the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAMG) scheme and its implementation framework.
The programme was held under the supervision of District Programme Coordinator (Deputy Commissioner) Ayushi Sudan, while Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi chaired the event. Assistant Commissioner Development Rafiq Ahmad Jaral and Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Narsingh Dayal coordinated the programme.
The conclave witnessed participation of Block Development Officers, former PRI representatives, Rural Development Department officials and people from different parts of the district. The event focused on creating awareness about the objectives, provisions and operational framework of the newly introduced scheme.
Resource persons from the Rural Development Department, who had undergone training on the new legislation, gave detailed presentations on the salient features of the VB-GRAMG scheme. They explained that the initiative marks a significant shift from the earlier MGNREGA programme by placing greater emphasis on sustainable rural infrastructure, improved livelihood opportunities and holistic village development.
The experts also elaborated on the legal framework, operational modalities and implementation mechanisms of the scheme, addressing queries raised by participants and helping them understand its practical aspects.
Addressing the gathering, Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the stakeholders and said the overwhelming response reflected the commitment towards effective implementation of the scheme. She urged all implementing agencies and field functionaries to strictly adhere to the legal framework of the VB-GRAMG scheme and ensure transparency, accountability and integrity in its execution.
