DC Kathua reviews progress of JKCIP implementation, directs faster disposal of pending cases

KATHUA, July 27: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma on Monday reviewed the implementation and progress of the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) in the district and directed all concerned departments to expedite the processing and approval of pending applications.
Chairing a meeting of officers from various line departments, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the department-wise progress under the flagship project aimed at strengthening the agriculture and allied sectors.
Chief Agriculture Officer Jatinder Khajuria presented a detailed overview of the status of JKCIP applications, highlighting department-wise coverage, approvals, targets and achievements under the scheme.
During the meeting, the Sheep Husbandry Department informed that 10 cases have been approved against a target of 16. The Animal Husbandry, Horticulture and Fisheries Departments also briefed the meeting about their respective targets, achievements and progress made under the project.
Emphasising the need for timely implementation, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all departments to accelerate the disposal and sanctioning of pending cases so that eligible beneficiaries receive assistance without delay.
He stressed that seamless implementation and close coordination among all departments are essential for achieving the objectives of JKCIP and ensuring sustainable development in the agriculture and allied sectors.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahima Madan, Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur, Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer Romesh Kumar Manhas, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Yugal Kishore, Assistant Director Fisheries Pawan Kumar, District Horticulture Officer Ashwani Sharma, besides other officers concerned.
