LEAD unveils its third edition of Annual Smarika

JAMMU, AUGUST 6: LEAD – LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue on Thursday unveiled the third edition of its Annual Smarika, highlighting the organisation’s developmental initiatives and contributions towards promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable economic growth across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The publication was released during a function at Amar Singh Club, Jammu by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar in the presence of Director, Industries & Commerce, Jammu Arun Kumar Manhas, LEAD Board Members, Executive Members and representatives from the business community.
According to LEAD, the third edition of the Smarika reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth through entrepreneurship, policy dialogue, innovation and collaborative development initiatives.
The publication documents LEAD’s activities over the past year, covering programmes on entrepreneurship development, startup promotion, rural livelihoods, agriculture, tourism, skill development, policy research, youth engagement, environmental sustainability and partnerships with government departments, academic institutions, industry and civil society organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, LEAD Convenor Harinder Gupta reiterated the organisation’s commitment to evidence-based policy research, strengthening local enterprises, supporting startups, promoting youth leadership and creating sustainable economic opportunities across the region.
Director, Industries & Commerce, Jammu Arun Kumar Manhas congratulated the LEAD team and appreciated its contribution towards promoting entrepreneurship and economic development. He said the Industries and Commerce Department would continue to support LEAD’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Addressing the gathering, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar commended LEAD for its contribution to regional development and said he had been associated with the organisation’s initiatives since its inception. He particularly praised Mahotsav – Jammu Kashmir Ladakh, describing it as one of Jammu’s most significant public events that has effectively showcased the region’s entrepreneurship, culture, tourism, handicrafts, agriculture, cuisine and local enterprises.
LEAD Board Member Sanjeev Sharma said the Annual Smarika serves as both a record of the organisation’s initiatives and a knowledge resource documenting best practices, success stories, research findings and future development priorities.
He also expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for contributing the cover message for this year’s Smarika, acknowledging his appreciation of LEAD’s work and his best wishes for the organisation’s future initiatives.
